A DC-transplant from western New York, Kathryn’s career started on Capitol Hill as deputy press secretary for US Senator John W. Warner from Virginia. Since then she’s merged public affairs savvy with strategic communications expertise to create compelling and effective communications initiatives for organizations ranging from Taco Bell to Catholic Charities. Kathryn excels at uncovering opportunities for meaningful impact.
She is recognized as a collaborative leader, inspiring innovation and professional excellence, and is skilled at standing up new programs, creating operational efficiencies and delivering results that matter.
Corporate Communications Specialist
She’s led global initiatives, navigating the food, nutrition, regulatory and consumer landscape, for global restaurant chains and CPG companies – educating stakeholders on consumer and regulatory realities, while creating improvement plans. She helped mitigate crisis and liability risk for a multinational, agri-business around the labor in its supply chain. She’s honed research questions to gauge consumer aptitude for new products on behalf of CPG companies, and created research protocol to uncover reputation headwinds for global quick-serve restaurants. She also contributed to food industry messaging around the White House Conference on Hunger, Nutrition and Health.
Earlier in her career, she was a political appointee in the Bush Administration serving as Communications Director for the Office of Science and Technology Policy.

She holds a master’s degree in professional and technical writing from Carnegie Mellon University and a bachelor’s degree in English from the State University of New York College at Geneseo.
A life-long Girl Scout, Kathryn's been a troop leader and cookie manager with the Girls Scouts of the Nation's Capital for more than a dozen years. She also is a volunteer with Project Gabriel and an active member of Holy Cross Parish in Kensington, Maryland. Kathryn lives in Bethesda, Maryland, with her daughters.
